Pompous Pelican is a three-level Nags Head vacation rental designed for large family beach trips and group getaways. All 6 bedrooms face the ocean and include private ensuite bathrooms, giving up to 16 guests their own comfortable spaces while keeping everyone together under one roof.

Inside Pompous Pelican

Four bedrooms feature king beds, while two bedrooms each have two queen beds. The open living area brings the group together with ocean views, and the kitchen includes dining for 12 plus 4 additional seats at the breakfast bar so everyone can gather for meals.

Outside by the Atlantic

Three levels of open decking give your group plenty of room to enjoy panoramic Atlantic views, while the front screened porch and rear covered deck add more places to relax outdoors. A private hot tub, gas grill, outdoor shower, and direct private beach access make it easy to move from mornings on the sand to laid-back evenings at the house.

This house is amazing. We stayed during a weekend where there was tornado watch, thunderstorms, and snow (in March!) and we still couldn’t have had a better time. The living space is set up exactly how we would have hoped for family games and meals and general hanging out. The views couldn’t be topped. I can’t say enough about this house. Three decks! Hot tub! Private bathrooms! We had the best time.

Pompous Pelican is unique, including that all 6 bedrooms have their own bathroom. The wonderful views from all areas of the third level add to the beachfront experience. The new bathroom vanities are a nice improvement.

Clean and well-supplied. Location is midway between piers and public access, so beach is uncrowded. Nag’s Head is always a treat, because the beach is dog friendly. Good nature walks nearby and close to Pea Island Nature Preserve.
